Download BackupProof
Version 0.1.1, released 7 October 2026. One program for every role: the dashboard, the server agent and the command-line tool. Most people should use the one-line installer instead.
Programs
| System | Intel / AMD (amd64) | ARM (arm64) |
|---|---|---|
| Linux | backupproof-linux-amd64 | backupproof-linux-arm64 |
| macOS | backupproof-darwin-amd64 | backupproof-darwin-arm64 |
| Windows | backupproof-windows-amd64.exe | backupproof-windows-arm64.exe |
Also in the release: SHA256SUMS, install.sh and install.ps1. Apple Silicon Macs use arm64. Each program is a single static file with no dependencies.
Verify a download
Download SHA256SUMS next to the program and check it matches:
$ sha256sum --ignore-missing -c SHA256SUMS # Linux
$ shasum -a 256 --ignore-missing -c SHA256SUMS # macOS
backupproof-linux-amd64: OK
On Windows, in PowerShell, compare the output of Get-FileHash backupproof-windows-amd64.exe with the matching line of SHA256SUMS.
Docker images
Multi-architecture images (amd64 and arm64) are published to the GitHub Container Registry for every release:
| Image | Use |
|---|---|
ghcr.io/chmuzamil/backupproof | The dashboard. A minimal image with no shell, running as a non-root user. |
ghcr.io/chmuzamil/backupproof-agent | A server agent with PostgreSQL and MariaDB client tools and the Docker CLI for restore tests. |
Tags: latest, 0.1.1 and 0.1. See Install with Docker.
Run it by hand

chmod +x backupproof-linux-amd64
sudo mv backupproof-linux-amd64 /usr/local/bin/backupproof
backupproof server --data /var/lib/backupproof --listen 0.0.0.0:8420
